Hi, I'm Pam Humphrey. Phrey — pronounced "free" — is pulled from my last name, and it's the thread that connects everything you'll find here.
I write sweet, closed-door romance under two pen names: Remi Carrington for sweet rom-coms with banter, swoony heroes, and the kind of found family that will help you bury a body (although that hasn't been necessary so far), and Pamela Humphrey for stories that are grittier, rawer, and a little harder to categorize.
What I love most about writing romance isn't the destination—it's the falling. The moment someone realizes they're in trouble. The tension before the first kiss. The slow burn that finally catches. That's what has my heart, and it's what I hope you feel in every book.
I live in San Antonio, Texas, which is why you'll find a lot of Texas ranches, small towns, and Hill Country sunsets in my stories. I write full time, which still feels like a gift.
